Create a bucket hat for your furry friend

Hello little creatures of the Lord, we are only 3 days away from finishing Dogvember and I can tell you that I am already feeling nostalgic 😔 You don't know how much fun it has been for me to share so many moments full of creativity with you, it has truly been the best ❤️ ✨🥺 Thank you very much for coming here, this day 28!
Today I am bringing you a very pretty hat for your babies. Remember that you have creative freedom, you don't necessarily have to use this pawtron. I made it with love in case you don't want to make it from scratch.
I made three sizes:
S: the perimeter of the wing measures 34.5 cm and the bridge (between ear and ear) measures 5 cm
M: the perimeter measures 50 cm and the bridge 7 cm
L: the perimeter of the wing measures 64 cm and the bridge 9 cm
XL: Brim circumference measures 80 cm and bridge 11.5 cm
Hey, I didn't get around to making the XL and S size samples, but I hope they turn out well. If they turn out funny, don't blame me, thanks. Before cutting the pattern out of fabric, use the paper patterns to simulate the hat and "try it on" your baby. Here you can make modifications and adjustments to the pattern before cutting.
I made this tutorial with lining but I understand that it can be more complex to do. You can also choose not to put lining and finish the finishes with your overlock (obviously brother 💅🏻 right)
Well, you can find the pawtron here and always remember to print only the first page, at 100% in letter size. Check that the square measures exactly 5x5cm (if it doesn't measure exactly that, the patterns will be deformed)
Materials
50 cm x 120 wide Main fabric
50 cm x 120 wide Lining fabric
Cord and an adjuster clasp (this is to tie it on your head so it doesn't fall off)
Recommended fabrics
For this hat we recommend fabrics with structure such as denim, corduroy or cotton fabrics with body. If they don't have much body you can use thick interfacing. Preferably fabrics that you can iron easily.
Procedure
All pawtrones have a 1cm seam allowance.
It is very important to make the central notches (top and bottom) of the wing. The circle is not symmetrical, the curve at the bottom is slightly longer than the one at the top and if we do not mark the notches there may be problems when joining them.
Iron an edge 1 cm from both bands (the front and the lining). This step is also extremely important because it will allow us to close the hat more easily.
Take your two wings and align them using the pegs.
Sew a seam all the way around. This step must be done slowly and patiently to respect the 1 cm seam allowance. Once finished, make triangle-shaped notches all around. When the curves are like mountains (as in this case) triangles are made so that the fabric can be turned over and the shape will look good. When the curves are like valleys (the curve is inward U-shaped), only small notches are made.
Take your center bridge and your side bridges. Line up the sides by putting right sides together and sew at 1cm
Once your bridge is ready, topstitch on each side .5 cm apart.
Take the bridge lining and place it on top of the bridge, with the right sides of the fabric facing each other. Sew the sides together at 1 cm.
Take your band and the band lining. Join them at the sides 1 cm apart. Remember that it is important that one of the edges is ironed and that this ironing is well marked.
Take your band and place it with the brim, making sure that both right sides of the fabric are facing each other. Align the seam of the band with the top notch of the brim.
Sew a seam around the edge at 1cm. At this step make sure you are only sewing the brim and band, not the lining parts. Also, since it is very curved, take your time and enjoy the process bb
Once this step is done, your hat should look like this (now we are going to make it look the same on the lining side)
Repeat the same procedure but with the wing lining and the band lining.
Once both bands are attached to both wings, locate the upper and lower pickets of the wing.
Take your bridge and line up the center notch with the bottom notch of the band (not the lining band, the main fabric band) right sides together. Sew a seam to secure it .5cm from the edge.
Once one side of the bridge is secured, perform the same procedure with the other side of the bridge.
Now you just have to close the wuwuuw hat, for this it is important to iron the edges that we made from the beginning, the cm seam mark will allow us to fold them and fix them without problems.
Close the hat by joining both bands, folding the seam inward, and running a topstitch all the way around at .2 cm. Also make a topstitch on the bottom of the band at .2 cm and on the brim make several backstitches in a circle at .5 cm.
I didn't have time to look for a cord and adjuster :( but it is important that you put it on so that it fits well to your baby's head. Place the adjuster with a seam under each side of the wing.
This is how size L turned out for Coco:
With the cord and the adjuster it would fit much better! (I insist that you do not skip this step, do not be like me, be better hehehe)
and my precious baby looks divine like this in size M:
he's so silly, i love him <3
Well girls, I also found a pattern for you in the free patterns that mood fabrics makes. I didn't have time to make the sample to see if I would modify anything, but in the comments there are some tips and details that you could change to make the bucket hat prettier and more modern.
If you don't want to put your email, I'll leave the patterns here. I hope you also have a chance to make them so that they are well coordinated 😌
Well, this is the last tutorial for Dogvember 😢 but not the last post of this project. I will continue to share activities regularly so that you can continue working on that enormous talent you have. I am extremely proud of you, maybe I'll throw you a cheesy letter for whoever wants to read it on the 30th... maybe...
We love you very much
