Ideas to start your dog clothing business
Compartir
A year ago, I decided to embark on the adventure of selling dog clothes. Before reaching this point and choosing to sell only patterns, I faced many trials and errors.
At first, I wanted to sell dog sweaters along with matching tote bags. I made a few designs, but the supplier let me down and I only received a few tote bags (which are still looking for a home! If you're interested in any, please contact me!). Sadly, the sweaters never arrived :(
But, hey, not all is lost. Today I am here to share this idea with you because I know it has a lot of potential for your business or venture. The dog clothing market is growing as many owners look for ways to pamper their pets. Despite the wide variety of clothing available, there is still a lack of dog-specific fashion, which presents a unique opportunity to explore and create. This lack of style options allows entrepreneurs to innovate and offer clothing that is not only functional, but also fashionable and stylish, appealing to an increasingly fashion-conscious audience for their furry friends.
I'm sharing with you a little bit of the process to make this matching set between Rat and me! We're sure to be the coolest in the park (:
To make Santi's garment I used the Pawchic T-shirt , which as you'll see also works with sweater knits, in size RXL. Sizes starting with "R" are sizes that are designed for small dogs with a long body (like a shih tzu or a dachshund).
Once you know the correct size for your dog by checking the size chart and the final garment measurement chart, it's time to print and join.

Once the patterns are ready, they are cut out in the fabric of your choice and with the sewing tutorial you are ready to start creating! You can check out our tiktok to get a head start on that process hehe (and don't forget to follow us)

Other ideas that you can use to start your business are making shirts, trench coats, jackets or accessories for the dog that match the owner.
