Hugs and tears on this walk with Frijol
The truth is, it was a very emotional day. This weekend I had to shop for and deliver the April and May donations to the shelter. It hadn't been an easy weekend because I wanted to celebrate 12k on IG by giving away a pawtron, and everything ended up going wrong. I didn't feel valued or appreciated. Of course, there were many women with beautiful messages full of love (and they are the ones I remember and hold dear to my heart), but there were also many people asking for the pawtron as if I owed them something. People who have never bought or wanted to invest in my work (even though they know everything it entails), the person who wanted multiple sizes with different email addresses, the messages without saying "please" or "thank you," the people answering my stories as if I were a robot with no feelings... It just broke my heart. I love what I do, but the way many people treat me and their lack of politeness and empathy really broke me. I'm telling you all this not to play the victim, but so you know that I know my limits and will no longer allow any unkind messages (that includes reading all the instructions or information I put in the patterns or on the website). I take my work very seriously, and I find it disrespectful that you think you can talk to me (or to people in general) as if we owe you something, as if we don't feel anything.
I will always advocate for kindness, and I won't go around saying, "Oh, if you're not kind to me, I won't be kind to you either." I simply won't allow anyone to talk to me the way I WOULDN'T SPEAK TO MYSELF or to others. I'm writing all of this to vent and to let you know that I truly feel and read every single one of your messages and comments.
For me, Pawtrones will always have a purpose beyond allowing me to exist in this horrible, capitalist system. For me, Pawtrones is generosity, love, empathy, kindness, respect, and compassion. I do this so I can also help other animals from my own trenches. It may be a lot, it may be a little, but I always do it with my heart in my hand and with the greatest desire to contribute something positive to this society.
I'm so grateful to all the women with kind and loving hearts who have crossed my path. Thanks to you, I won't give up either. You truly reflect the Pawtron spirit, and I will always pray for your well-being and for life's blessings. Thank you to each and every one of you who has purchased and trusted my work. Thank you to those who purchased these past two months and gave me the opportunity to bring various things to the shelter.
Frijol didn't just give me a hug; he restored my faith and reminded me why I'm here, why I do what I do, and why I have a promise to keep. Please, let's find him a loving and responsible home. He deserves nothing less.
Finally, I want to tell you that this month I was able to bring in 5 bags of kibble, 2 cans of bleach, a box of kitten food packets, two beds, and I participated in a @unavidadeperros raffle to support dogs looking for homes. I also took Frijol and Frijolita from the @centrodeadopciónpetmex shelter, and we went to the park and got some special dog ice cream. It was a beautiful day.
Thanks for reading, yes, you did. Thanks for contributing and being part of Pawtrons.
