December & January — Perronas Kings' Cakes
Compartir
Closing out the year and starting a new one with love, food, and company... what more could you ask for? This December and January, I decided to do something different: swap the traditional Rosca for a lovingly designed version for babies who don't have a family but still have a strong desire to be loved.
✨ I made King's Day cakes for dogs ! I baked them myself, using safe and nutritious ingredients, and decorated them with details that would brighten their day. Each cake was made with:
🥚 2 eggs
🥣 1 cup of whole wheat flour
🍗 Shredded chicken
🥕 1 cup grated carrot
I baked several rounds so I'd get enough. I decorated them with a little bit of natural yogurt, apple pieces, and gelatin (though I ended up leaving out the gelatin because I was worried the artificial coloring might affect the BBs).
On January 6th , Three Kings' Day, I took all the roscas to the Pet Mex Adoption Center in Mexico City, and I also gave a special rosca to Dinah , the shelter director, as a thank you for her enormous work with the furry friends.
Also during mealtime I helped Dinah clean the babies' room, who made a mess because they destroyed some of their beds, hehe.

Seeing the dogs' faces trying their bread was the most beautiful thing. There's nothing more beautiful than celebrating life with them, with simple acts full of meaning. You can see it on our TikTok!
Thank you to every single person who supports Pawtrones. We do it all together. Because when you sew with love, babies receive love too. 💖🐶
