Hey Paw Pawtrons! On Day 11 of our challenge, we invite you to celebrate the life of your dog or cat by creating a unique and special painting. Not only is this activity a beautiful way to pay tribute to your furry companion, but it will also allow you to explore your creativity and connect with them emotionally. By capturing their essence in a work of art, you will be creating a lasting keepsake that will capture the personality and love you share.
There are a thousand possibilities for this exercise and you can explore the technique you feel most comfortable with, from photography, painting, embroidery or illustration! Think about what you would like to convey in this painting and where you would place it to get an idea of where to start.
Ideas for the Painting
Painting or Drawing: Use your artistic skills to paint or draw your dog or cat. You can capture their favorite expression or recreate a special scene you've shared together. I love the work Sarah does at ColoriMx portraying bbs using her digital illustration technique! This can be a really cute idea if you like to draw. Remember that everyone has their own illustration style and that's what makes them unique.Digital Art : If you prefer digital art, consider creating a fun design that combines photos and graphics of your pet. Use apps to add effects and text that reflect your pet's personality.
I made this fun picture for Santiago, imitating the pictures that are sometimes made in photography studios for baptisms or sweet 15th birthdays. I think it's a very Mexican tradition and I love it.
Paw Print Collage : Collect your pet's paw prints in different colors and shapes, creating a vibrant collage. You can use finger paint to make the prints or even stamps. You can also look for ink that is friendly to your furry friend's paws and make beautiful paintings with it. We got this image from Pinterest.
Creative Photos : Use your favorite photos to create this painting. We found this really funny TikTok that used photos of her dog in a bathrobe and placed that photo in a painting for her bathroom. Or this other TikTok where she took photos of her dog doing his business and also placed it in the bathroom.
Memory Frame : Create a decorative frame that includes not only a photo, but also other mementos, such as a stamped footprint, a ribbon from her necklace, or even a meaningful message.
This is a really cute idea that we found on Pinterest . You can rearrange it and arrange it in different ways, adding elements that are meaningful to you or your baby.
Watercolors or Pastels : If you like soft painting, try watercolors or pastels to capture the softness of their fur. These techniques are perfect for a more delicate and artistic approach. If you don't know how to draw but want to go this route, you can look for simple tutorials on YouTube to help you create your baby. It doesn't have to be perfect, the important thing is that you try and make it your creation!
3D Art : If you're feeling adventurous, consider making a three-dimensional painting that includes items like toys or accessories that your pet likes, creating a unique representation.
Embroidery: For girls who love embroidery, you can explore embroidering your baby with threads. There are many different ways to do it! This reference is from Pinterest
Remember, the most important thing is that this activity connects you with your pet and allows you to express your love for them. Let your creativity shine and enjoy the process!
The painting of Santiago
This time I decided to make a painting with photographs of Santi. I made close-ups of some parts of his body and edited them in black and white. I asked for a special ink to trace his footprint and this was the result:
Also, when I was in painting classes I decided to paint it in oils and this was the third oil painting I have done in my life hehe I gave it to my dad for his birthday.
Don't forget to share your creations! They will surely turn out gorgeous.
We love you very much
