Recycling

Recycling

Hello cutie! On this exciting Day 12 of the challenge, we invite you to give new life to clothes you no longer wear by creating a unique garment or toy for your dog or cat. Not only is this a creative way to recycle, but it will also allow you to personalize something special for your furry friend.

Here are some ideas on how you could do it:

Sweatshirt Sweater: Use an old sweatshirt. Cut off the bottom and sleeves to create a cozy sweater. Make sure to leave enough room for the head and paws. This inspo was taken from Pinterest

Cotton T-shirt: Turning a t-shirt into a top for your pet is easy. Simply cut off the part of the shirt you don't need and adjust the size to fit your pet.

Pants to Sweater: As shown in the attached photo, you can use sweatpants to make a sweater. Cut off the legs and adjust the width to fit your pet. This inspo was taken from Pinterest

Recycled Toy: If you have scraps of fabric, you can make a toy for your dog to play with. Simply sew the pieces together and add some stuffing.

This image is from Sew Historically and there are more options for making toys from recycled denim!

Accessories: Don't forget the details! With leftover fabric, you can create a scarf or bandana to match the garment.

On this page they explain how to make the bandana from scratch but you could also choose to cut the shirt like the image and just make the bag with the extra fabric you have left.

Tips for Creation:

  • Make sure to measure your dog or cat before you begin so the garment will fit perfectly.
  • Think comfort: choose fabrics that are soft and won't irritate your pet's skin.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different patterns and styles.

Remember, the most important thing is to have fun and let your imagination run wild as you create something special for your furry friend. We can't wait to see what you create!

Our project

For this project we made the Pawtastic Pair I Pawtron sample and the Pawfect Hoodie. These two pawtrons will be available very soon, I wanted to have them ready for this day but there were delays in the process of samples and corrections for all the sizes :(. I care a lot about each pawtron having attention to detail and that is why we take the time to create each one of them.

I used some skinny jeans that I haven't worn for a long time to turn them into jeans for Santi and into a sweatshirt that I've never worn.

For the hood I used the same one from the sweatshirt, I just made it smaller. Take advantage of the parts of the garment and save on cutting and sewing.

Coco bulleadora as always. Don't forget to share your results! We are sure that this exercise will greatly feed your creative power.

We love you so much

Santi & Gabriela
